Alteryx has just released a great new connector to take advantage of the power and speed of Microsoft’s Azure Text Analytics engine.
The power of Alteryx to obtain/clean data combined with the power of Azure’s robust text analytics engine can enable some really exciting use cases!
In this case we will extract customer reviews from the internet and analyze the review text using sentiment analysis.
First we will download real customer reviews from Yelp. To showcase the flexible nature of Alteryx we will download the HTML and then parse and clean the content. If an API or database was available it would be easy to connect to with Alteryx.
[table id=6 /]
After the first four steps the resulting output will contain one review per row of data:
[table id=3 /]
Next we will send each review to the Azure Text Analytics Engine for sentiment analysis.
[table id=5 /]
After running the data through the Azure Sentiment Analysis engine a new column will be added with the sentiment analysis for each record:
[table id=4 /]
Woot! With just six steps we have pulled data from the internet and run complex text analysis.
